Den Beste comments on the poor spelling of the anti-war protesters, saying "I thought all the antiwar protesters were liberal arts majors; ain't they 'sposed ta be the folks what study English and culchah and things like that, while us grubby engineers specialize in math?"

I don't know about this. Years of programming computers has impressed on me the importance of consistent spelling. Maybe not correct, but using inconsistent spelling leads at best to compiler errors, at worst to runtime bugs (generally, the former in compiled languages, the latter in interpreted ones).

One thing that strikes me about the picture Den Beste includes is that one of the protesters in the foreground is wearing a shirt with the radiation symbol on it. I'm wondering if this is his way of showing support for Saddam getting nuclear weapons.
