Chris on France

Chris has written a very good rebuttal to a defense of the French position on the Iraq situation. While his color scheme is somewhat confusing (he writes his comments in red), the content of the article is quite compelling.

Valuing cooperation over morality is not a mere cultural difference. Speaking French instead of Chinese is a mere cultural difference. Valuing short-term cooperation over world safety and freedom for millions of Iraqis is not a mere cultural difference. If the French would truly prefer that Saddam get nuclear weapons and the Iraqi people continue to suffer if they can't convince every last country in the UN that it's the right thing to do, then France is no longer relevant.

If you're part of the half of this blog's readership that isn't Chris, check it out.
